RIP Eurovision

December 5, 2008 Leave a comment

It’ll never be the same again, as Terry Wogan announces he’s no longer commentating the Eurovision Song Contest. I love the BBC’s quote from him:

"Let’s hope that between (Norton) and the musical brilliance of Lloyd Webber, Royaume Uni will gather its proper share of ‘Douze Points’ and bring the Grand Prix home to where it belongs."

Imagine it in his (possibly slightly inebriated) gentle Irish tones, as if voice-overring one of the odd country introductions from the Contest. Graham Norton has an incredible act to follow – don’t see him really doing it justice myself but time will tell…

Thanks Ina. Wonderful post which I wholly agree on. Creative advertising produces some amazing short films. My favourite, which still gets air time in Media Player is:

Wonderful. Produced by Wieden + Kennedy who also did the brilliant COG Advert:

All real, done in 1 camera shot after ~150 takes if memory serves. Great stuff.
